Hydraulix 137 - Elephantmat - Streets Ahead E.P.

Mathieu Rossier AKA Elephantmat had a release with our sublabel Mutate To Survive a few years back. His music is really different and cross genre, so when this demo arrived we couldn’t resist it for Hydraulix. Originally to be released in Dobly Atmos, we settled for a regular stereo release due to the current complications of distributing Atmos files. However much of Matthieu’s work is in 360 immersive audio and he runs a music workshop called Des Sons Animés based in Paris.

The legendary SLAM from Glasgow pretty much kick started the UK techno scene with their classic “Positive Education” on their own SOMA imprint. Slam were also responsible for releasing the first Daft Punk 12” to an unsuspecting world. Thomas Bangalter slept on their sofa in the early days, it doesn’t get much more legendary than that. We are absolutely over the moon that we managed to convince them to come and play for us.
